ATI FORBERG (1925 - 2014) was an artist, illustrator, and editor. She had a diverse art career before finally focusing exclusively on children's book illustrations. Born in Germany, she was the daughter of Walter Gropius, who is widely
regarded as one of the pioneering masters of modern architecture. Her father's influence is reflected in her illustrations, highly conceptual and dreamlike pieces composed of spontaneous lines and a thoughtful spareness of color.
